Hair Transplantation in Women.
While hair loss is generally perceived as a problem specific to men, hair loss can also be experienced
in women. Possible factors behind hair loss in women include but are not limited to chemotherapy,
seasonal shedding, genetic factors, pregnancy, breastfeeding, thyroid diseases and skin diseases. The
first treatment of hair loss is to eliminate the reasons behind the hair loss. First of all, medical
treatments should be tried in order to stop hair loss and regrow hair. However, hair transplantation
is the only method that provides permanent and natural-looking results in irreversible hair loss
(especially genetic factors such as trauma and burns).
Hair loss in men is sometimes not perceived as a problem, but hair loss, which has a great function in
facial appearance, causes serious problems and psychological effects in women. Technically, hair
transplantation in women is not different from hair transplantation in men. However, the area of
hair loss in women differs from men. The factor that determines the area of hair loss is the reason
behind the loss. For this reason, a comfortable treatment plan should be made without reducing the
quality of life and the most natural appearance and permanent result should be achieved. In
experienced hands and when the right technique is used, women get faster and easier results than
men.
The preferred hair transplantation method for women is Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)- SAPPHIRE
and FUE- DHI methods. The follicular unit or hair graft, which contains 2 to 3 hair follicles, is usually
taken from the nape area and transferred to the area where the hair loss happens. Tips with a
diameter of one to a few millimeters are used together with a device called a micromotor for the
removal and transfer of hair follicles. The number of hair follicles determined in the pre-procedure
planning are collected from the donor area. Channels (a few millimeters in diameter) suitable for the
exit direction of the hair taken from the donor area are opened and the hair grafts are placed into
these channels or directly transplanted without opening the channel using the DHI method.
Since the hair is the person's own hair follicles, there is no change in hair color and character.
Although the transplanted hair starts to grow after 2 months, a period of 1 to 1.5 years is needed to
see all the results of the procedure.
Since the hair follicles taken are genetically resistant to falling out, hair loss is not possible after
transplantation.
We use the unshaven hair transplantation method without shaving the hair while performing hair
transplantation for women. Thus, you can return to your normal life 2 days after hair
transplantation.
In our center, patients are informed about every detail in the pre-implant process, so that their post-
implant expectations are realistic. Our experience and medical equipment maximize both patient
comfort and post-plant cosmetic results.
