SAPPHIRE + FUE Hair Transplantation
Follicular Unit Extraction, FUE, is the removal of each hair follicle one by one and transplanting it to
the bald areas with the SAPPHIRE technique. The SAPPHIRE technique allows the channels to be
opened to be more intense and more natural in SAPPHIRE quality. In this procedure, which is applied
under local anesthesia, a device called a micromotor is used together with tips of varying diameters
depending on the area where the hair follicles will be taken. The tip attached to the end of the
micromotor is applied to the area where the hair follicle will be taken in accordance with the growth
angle of the hair, and the hair follicle unit or follicular unit is removed as a whole. Each follicular unit
taken in this way – also called a graft – contains 2 to 3 hair follicles.
The main advantages are that it is a painless procedure, no incisions are made on the scalp, and
more hair follicles can be collected from the same area compared to the old methods. In addition,
although the opening of the channels where the hair follicles will be placed and the transplantation
stages are the same, the other advantages of hair transplantation are that it is a much more
comfortable procedure and that more hair follicles can be transferred in a much shorter time. The
result obtained is also very successful as the exit angle of the hair is precisely adjusted.
The FUE technique, which does not cause any tissue damage, is not only used in hair transplantation,
but also allows mustache, beard and eyelash transfers with hair follicles taken from the nape.
Before hair transplantation, a completely personalized planning is made. The front hairline, the
angle of the root canals and the total amount of follicles to be transferred are determined.
Since the hair is the person's own hair follicles, there is no change in hair color and character.
Although the transplanted hair starts to grow after 2 months, a period of 1 to 1.5 years is needed to
see all the results of the procedure.
Since the hair follicles taken are genetically resistant to shedding, hair loss is not possible after
transplantation.
